How this works

Text is extracted from every page of both PDFs, then compared word-by-word. Text that appears only in Version B is highlighted green (added); text that only appears in Version A is highlighted red with a strikethrough (removed). This compares extracted text content, not visual layout — formatting, image, or table changes with identical underlying text won't show up as differences.

Frequently asked questions

Does this compare visual layout or just text?

Just the extracted text content. Changes to fonts, colors, images, or layout that don't change the actual text won't be flagged as differences.

What if one PDF is a scan with no real text layer?

If a PDF has no extractable text (a pure image scan), there will be nothing to compare from that file. Try running it through Scan to Editable first to OCR it into real text.

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No, text extraction and comparison both happen entirely in your browser.
