Simply drawing a black rectangle on top of a page is a common but insecure trick — the text underneath is often still selectable, copyable, or extractable, so a careless redaction can leak the exact thing it was meant to hide. This tool avoids that: any page with a redaction box is flattened into a plain image with the marked areas permanently blacked out before rebuilding, so there's no text or vector content left underneath the black box on that page. Pages you don't mark are left untouched at their original quality.
