How this works, and the trade-offs: your scanned page is turned into real, editable text that PDF editors can select and edit directly — not just an image with text sitting invisibly on top. With "Keep logos, signatures & images" on, everything non-text (logos, signatures, photos, table borders) stays exactly as scanned, at the cost of a larger file; this can look slightly off on colored letterhead or unusual backgrounds. With it off, the page is rebuilt as text only, for the smallest possible file. Either way, only the text's approximate layout is preserved, not exact fonts/spacing, and results are best on plain text documents (letters, memos, simple reports) rather than heavily designed pages.
