This tool scans every page of your PDF for text that repeats across most pages or sits at a diagonal angle — the two hallmarks of a stamped watermark like "DRAFT" or "CONFIDENTIAL." Detection runs against the PDF's real vector text where available, or via on-device OCR for scanned pages. Only the short candidate text snippets it finds (never your full document) are sent to an AI service for a final confirmation pass, so real repeated content like page headers isn't mistaken for a watermark.
Once confirmed, each watermark instance is covered with a solid white rectangle sized to its exact bounding box, and the page is rebuilt — preserving full quality for unencrypted PDFs, or re-rendered for password-protected ones.

Watermarks that repeat identically across most pages, or that sit at a diagonal angle (roughly 15–75 degrees), are the strongest signals. A single one-off stamp on just one page is harder to distinguish from real content.
Is my whole document sent anywhere?
No. Detection and page rebuilding happen in your browser. Only the short repeated/diagonal text candidates are sent externally, and only to confirm which ones are actually watermarks — never your full document.
What if the AI confirmation service is unavailable?
The tool falls back to a conservative rule: only text that's diagonal or appears on nearly every page gets removed, so you don't lose legitimate repeated content by mistake.
Does this work on password-protected PDFs?
Yes, if you enter the correct password. Protected PDFs are processed by re-rendering each page (up to 40 pages), since encrypted PDFs can't be edited directly.
Will removing a watermark leave a visible mark?
The watermark area is covered with a solid white rectangle. On a plain white page background this is invisible; on colored or textured backgrounds it may be slightly noticeable.
